Client Connection Support Groups

Clients Advocating Recovery Through Empowerment is a peer-based mutual support group for people facing mental health challenges. Led by clients, for clients. There is no need to register for this free group.

Peer-to-Peer Education

Peer-To-Peer is a 10 week series of classes that help clients along the path to recovery. People who attend report a greater understanding of their diagnosis, and a bond with others in the class. The classes are small, and are a safe place to share and learn. The emphasis is on relapse prevention and psycho-social supports. The ultimate goal is for recovery and self-advocacy. The course was written by a client, and all classes are led by clients. Pre-registration is required for this class.

In Our Own Voice - Client Speakers' Bureau

In Our Own Voice is a recovery-education program presented by trained client presenters/facilitators to other clients, families, friends and professionals. It is for anyone who needs to know how people with mental illnesses cope with the realities of their disorder, while recovering and reclaiming productive lives with meaning and dignity. Each presentation is a stand-alone event, and lasts from one to one and a half hours.

Art Therapy Class

NAMI's free weekly art class gives people with mental health challenges an outlet for their innate creative selves, as well as an opportunity to exhibit their art.

Tools for Transition

You can help those who are living with mental illness and who face the challenge of moving into independent living situations from other facilities by helping with donations of essential household items. Please see details of Tools for Transition here.

Holiday Gift Program

NAMI participates in the Volunteer Center's annual Secret Santa Program. This program helps provide gifts for nearly 100 clients around Sonoma County.

Petaluma Housing Program

NAMI Sonoma County is the proud owner of two homes in Petaluma! We received federal Neighborhood Development Funds to purchase these homes. The homes are currently occupied by veterans, people living with mental health challenges and/or low income individuals who might otherwise have trouble finding permanent housing. Our goal is independent housing while following all Fair Housing policies. Thank you for making the dream of housing come true for people in our community.
